We ended up spending more than two weeks in Slovenia after my daughter went down with chicken pox part-way through the holiday, and we were unable to fly home until she was fully recovered. I managed to get through the full 16 days of the vacation with my 14-item travel capsule wardrobe in Slovenia in spring even though I’d only packed for one week.
What I packed:
Lime green wool coat
Midnight-blue silk-cashmere poloneck jumper
Navy blue oversized cardigan
Skinny black cashmere cardigan
Cotton-silk blend purple button-down shirt
H&M Morris collection top
Black cotton t-shirt
Floral pattern dress
Silk scarf
Wool-cashmere blend scarf
Navy blue skinny cords
Black leggings
Olive green leather backpack
Black brogues
By washing out t-shirts, trousers and underwear every two to three days I was able to stretch the capsule for the full two weeks — though I have to admit I was thoroughly bored with it by the time we returned!
It worked for every activity from sightseeing in Koper and Ljubljana to a long train journey to a hike around Lake Bled.
The weather varied in temperature a lot which meant some days I layered up with two jumpers/cardigans under the wool coat, and others I just wore a t-shirt with trousers.
We were lucky it didn’t rain much as I didn’t bring a mac or umbrella!
If I’d made a change it would be to have left the dress at home as I didn’t need it.
What do you think of the 14-item travel capsule wardrobe for Slovenia in spring? Can anyone share an great early spring capsule wardrobe?
